Bluesun Hotels and Resorts comprises 13 properties located in Croatia’s most beautiful vacation destinations. A recent travel industry boom prompted the Bluesun revenue management team to review and improve its capabilities.
“We wanted to make sure we were optimizing on this boom and taking advantage of opportunities to drive better revenue,” said Ivan Bilandžić, head of revenue management. Bluesun wanted to develop a thriving revenue management culture devoted to optimal revenue performance. The company also sought to develop a pricing strategy for capturing more direct business.
The IDeaS Advisory Services team helped Bluesun create a three-year roadmap for elevating revenue management performance while aligning internal departments on shared revenue goals. IDeaS Forecasting Management System was implemented in two phases.
Today, automated forecasts and a vibrant revenue culture allow the chain to make more profitable pricing decisions while optimizing the pricing structure for direct business. After the first year, Bluesun grew revenue 9.2%.
