Improvements & Innovations: What’s New in G3 RMS? (August 2025)

At IDeaS, we’re committed to bringing innovative, world-class revenue management solutions to our growing list of client properties. Every day, our team is hard at work to bring improvements and innovations—big and small—to life, enabling hoteliers to maximize the potential of their properties.

This blog series aims to give you a quick look at what we’ve been cooking up for G3 RMS:

Launch faster with Hot Start, build projections from similar properties, visualize projected booking pace, and more!

We’re excited to announce the most recent G3 RMS release updates are now available. The capabilities in this release offer better clarity in the system and increase efficiency. Let’s look at some of the highlights.

Introducing Hot Start: Get Results Faster with a Smarter Launch for G3 RMS

For properties with a minimum of 61 to 365 days of historical data, G3 RMS now offers Hot Start—a faster, smarter alternative to the traditional Data Build (also known as LDB), which is designed for hotels without any historical data.

Hot Start helps properties to start seeing results quickly by enabling them to go live using just two months of representative reservation and inventory data. This removes the need for manual projections and pattern configurations, allowing teams to skip time-consuming steps and begin optimizing revenue sooner.

Through automated system learning and configuration, Hot Start:

  • Speeds up setup through intelligent defaults and streamlined onboarding.
  • Supports detailed segmentation by enabling market splits at the rate code level.
  • Transitions smoothly to a fully optimized RMS as more historical data becomes available.

By simplifying the launch process and delivering actionable insights sooner, Hot Start helps properties unlock the power of G3 RMS faster—helping you make smarter decisions from day one.

Data Build: Accelerate Revenue Readiness

With IDeaS’ enhanced Data Build capability, clients can now jump-start revenue management for LDB properties by leveraging data from at least three similar properties within their portfolio. This approach greatly reduces the guesswork and manual effort typically required to estimate demand for properties lacking historical sales data.

By selecting comparable properties using filters such as:

  • Room count range
  • Proximity to target property
  • Custom attributes
  • Business mix
  • ADR range

G3 RMS intelligently generates monthly projections for review and adjustment, followed by automated daily projections. This helps even new or rebranded properties benefit from science-based forecasts and tactical decisions even sooner.

Note: Access to similar properties is required. If your organization restricts cross-property data usage, contact your IDeaS representative to disable this feature.

Easier Permission Management – New Look, More Control

Managing who can do what in your IDeaS solutions just got easier. You can now set up Permissions, Roles, Users, or Authorization Groups in a cleaner, more user-friendly interface. This update makes it faster to find what you need and simpler to make changes—whether you’re adding a new user or adjusting access level.

This is the first step toward Universal Admin, a centralized platform where users will eventually manage permissions across all IDeaS products.

New in the Business Analysis Dashboard: Projected Booking Pace

You’ll now find a helpful visual in the Business Analysis Dashboard that shows you the Expected Booking Pace. This visualization is a projection of when future bookings are likely to come in, based on current trends and what’s already on the books. This visual helps clarify the forecast, particularly if recent trends differ from last year.

You can also compare the current forecast with a Previous Expected Booking Pace (from a selected number of days ago) for insight into how and why the system’s forecast has changed.

This feature gives users a clearer picture of what to expect and when—making it easier to spot shifts in booking behavior early, adjust strategies, and communicate changes confidently with stakeholders.

  • Available at both the property and Forecast Group levels
  • Covers up to 120 days into the future

Smarter Rate Shopping: Now Ignore Specific Channels

You can now selectively exclude competitor pricing data from specific channels by using the Channel Settings tab. This feature is especially useful when certain channels consistently show inaccurate or inconsistent pricing. This enhancement helps users guide the system to avoid misleading data that can skew system outputs, ensuring more accurate comparisons and smarter decision recommendations.

To give users more control, the Ignore Competitor Data setting now requires both a competitor and a channel to be specified. Existing settings will continue to apply across all channels unless updated.

Rate Shopping Update: Required Fields for Rate Adjustments

To ensure accurate like-for-like comparisons between your property’s pricing and your competitors’ rates, the Rate Adjustment feature allows users to account for known differences like included breakfast or taxes. This input enables G3 RMS to optimize pricing based on truly comparable data.

Users are now able to enter value in both the “Other” and “Tax” fields when saving a Rate Adjustment. This ensures transparency and helps users understand how the system applies property-specific versus default values when using Investigator tool features.

Forecast Investigator Now Alerts You When Data Is Missing

We’ll admit it—an empty chart with no explanation is a bit of a head-scratcher when digging into your forecast. So we’ve added a friendly nudge to let you know when there’s not enough data for the view.

The Actual vs. Expected On Books (Transient Only) chart in Forecast Investigator now clearly notifies users when data is unavailable. To populate this chart, G3 RMS requires at least 180 days of reservation history (excluding ignored days). This clarifies why the chart may look empty, reducing confusion.

Faster Sync for Pricing Overrides

When only pricing overrides are applied and no other changes are made, using Sync All or Sync All and Upload now triggers a faster process. Instead of syncing the full optimization window, G3 RMS targets only the affected period—including stay-through demand—allowing quicker updates and enabling users to make additional changes sooner.
